Hello guys today is the last day of practice this week,
our material today is make ketupat, which previously we were told to bring
pandan leaves to be used to make ketupat. We start make it after getting
direction from the lecturer, ketupat is a type of food made from rice which is
put into woven palm leaves (janur) which are made into bags which are then
cooked for a long time.
In philosophy, ketupat is a special meaning. Ketupat
or tupat in Javanese is short for ngaku lepat. I say it's fast means to admit
mistakes. Ketupat tradition has become a tradition for generations. Before
making ketupat we first clean the pandan leaves by removing the thorns on the
edge of the pandan leaves. After that, remove the hard middle part of the leaf
because if the middle part is still there are leaves, it will be difficult to
weave.
Today we were told to make 6 ketupat each person
whose size is different, ranging from the big to the small. After the ketupat
is enough, we collect it in one big bag and the rest is filled with rice to
cook. After making ketupat we help for gc,
because today we are going to gc like Friday is a massive gc that cleans all
the tools and cleans all the top to bottom, after we finish our gc oneline and
ready to go home.
